How does the environment in a room impact one’s wellbeing? It is not always conscious but there is an awareness of light, color, noise, clutter and type of decor.
I had the privilege of a wonderful stay recently at Posthotel in Leavenworth, WA, a newer destination in this Bavarian themed town. Posthotel, a European inspired inn, offering hydrotherapy spa amenities, is an amazing experience! One never has to leave the confines of the beautiful lodge style building, and padding around in a white robe and slippers feels totally normal. The adult only facility is simply understated luxury and its Wellness Area offers a variety of steam rooms, saunas, warm saltwater indoor/outdoor pool, hot and cold pools. I am impacted by the esthetics of my surroundings, and the interiors with wood trim and beams, neutral color palette and generous use of natural stone made me feel welcome and very comfortable. I know that our own homes can have this impact on us and those who visit, so take a tip from Posthotel when thinking about your own home’s esthetic. We can’t all live in European chalets, however, we have the power to set our home’s tone with color, lighting and furnishings.
